Auckland Zoo Flamingo Chicks

1971

What’s better than a flamingo chick? Well…two of them!

Remember the wee pink chicks that were born earlier this year? Well they’re really starting to spread their wings.

We caught up with Pridelands keeper David who filled us in on the exciting developments within the flock and just how unique and special these two flock-reared chicks are! This is the first time in Australasia that flamingo parents have successfully hatched and raised chicks by themselves, without assistance from our keepers.

We’re so proud of our two chicks, Eleanor and Sullivan, and all our amazing Pridelands team have accomplished.
